On Saturday, May 7th, Minot State University students, faculty, and alumni participated in the worldwide celebration of “Print Day in May.” This community event began in 2007 at the Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey, California, and grows in number of participators each year. This May, the event brought artists together from 36 US states and almost 40 different countries around the world.
Hosted by Flat Tail Press, this was the second annual Print Day for Minot State and included fourteen artists who each delivered a unique approach to the challenge: create an edition of 11x15-inch prints. The end result includes processes such as screen prints, digital prints, etching, wood relief, hand-paintings, as well as alternative photographic processes.
The first gallery below are the prints from the day and the second gallery highlights the making process.
