We are excited to have Kim Fink as our FTP guest artist this week. Kim is Professor of Printmaking at University of North Dakota. FTP’s directors Ryan Stander and Jessica Christy studied Printmaking under him in graduate school. Kim learned Printmaking in Rome, Italy while he was in the MFA program at Tyler School of Art at Temple University. He has works in various permanent collections, and has shown in over 200 group and solo shows both nationally and internationally. He has collaborated and printed with various artists such as Audrey Flack, Mark Amerika, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, Art Speigelman, and Kim Abeles. Recently, he has been working on nontraditional approaches to relief printmaking. To those ends, Kim will be working on a woodcut while at MSU. Using a special technique of soaking the paper with solvent to bleed colors through, he will then also screen print on the prints as well.
